Official Statement on the Fire Incident of 24th September 2025
We regret to inform our staff, students, parents, and the entire Tharaka University community of a fire incident that occurred on the night of September 24, 2025.
While we sustained some property damage, we are grateful that no one was hurt. We assure our stakeholders that normalcy has been restored within the University. Learning and other operations are going on uninterrupted. We remain resilient and committed to moving forward.
We wish to assure parents/guardians, students, staff, and the broader community that investigations into the cause of the fire are underway. The University will continue to update the stakeholders and the general public on this matter.
We would like to specially thank our students, staff and the neighbouring community for their efforts to contain the fire. We urge everyone to remain calm during this period.
The University remains committed to the safety and well-being of our students, staff and stakeholders.
