The Conference activities were launched by Prof. Peter K. Muriungi on day one and the keynote speakers for the three days were; Dr. Daniel Giti, Ph.D. – Deputy Director, Enablers Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat with the topic: Role of Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) & Greater Private Sector Initiatives for University Infrastructure development & Service Delivery, Dr. Lawrence Nderu – CoD, Department of Computing, JKUAT, Founder, JHUB Africa, Co-founder, gDIH-Konza with the topic: The AI Advantage Driving Innovation, Service & Learning Forward and Ms. Mary Nyale – Country Director, Farm Africa with the topic: Regenerative Agriculture. The Closing Ceremony was presided over by Prof. Veronica Nyaga, Ph.D. – Ag. Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, Research and Students Affairs.
Tharaka University successfully held the 6th Annual International Research Conference which attracted more than 115 participants from all over the globe, for three days from 29th – 31st October 2024. The conference took place at TUN Main Campus and virtually.
The theme for conference was “Research, Technology and Sustainable Resource Management for Socio-economic Transformation.” Presentations were based on five subthemes namely; Education, Agriculture and dryland farming, Basic Sciences, Computing Technologies, Business and Economics, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Health Sciences.
